Jumper – A Review
Posted in Movie Review on 08/28/2008 08:19 pm by JamesJumper was originally a novel by Steven Gould that made the jump to the theatre. Get it. Unfortunately the movie is about as good as that joke. It starts out with the main character calling me a chump. A bad sign considering I already heard how terrible the movie is. However, considering it has Samuel L. Jackson in it I had to rent it. Another bad sign is 15 minutes in when my wife asked, “Is this really a movie?” On a positive note it does have some amazing scenes in Hi-Def. Samuel L. Jackson also does a great job playing the oh so well known character that he plays in a lot of his movies which makes this movie bearable. There was a point where I was thinking that it wasn’t a terrible waste of time. That’s when it ended and left me wondering why I just wasted all that time. This is absolutely one of those movies that leaves you asking a bunch of questions. As a matter of fact I think had they answered the questions they brought up this movie would have been good. Instead, it seems, they want to leave it open. Perhaps they are paving the way for a second movie which will probably be made since they know they can turn a profit. Same reason movies like Disaster Movie get made. Do your best to avoid this movie.
