Vantage Point – A Review
Posted in Random Rambling on 09/07/2008 06:49 pm by JamesThe first part of the movie is incredibly boring. They basically shot 30 minutes of footage and then show it over and over again. Not only that but my wife figured out a lot of what was going on within the first 5 minutes. Now we are usually able to do this with a lot of movies anyway but it was pretty obvious pretty quick.
I was ready to shut it off and go to bed. then Forest Whitaker’s part came up. I know he’s a good actor but he did a great job of getting my interest and keeping it. After that the movie really picked up. There was a lot of action and they stopped showing the same stuff over and over again.
If you can put up with the first part of the movie it is well worth it. Even if you are able to figure out what’s going on early on. The ending, for lack of a better word, was beautiful. If you can rent this then go rent it. You won’t be disappointed. Especially if you have Blu-Ray.
As a side note the Blu-Ray version does crop the top and bottom which I hate. My big screen wasn’t cheap and I want it to be utilized.
