The Great American Meatout
Posted in Food, indianapolis on 09/13/2008 12:45 pm by JamesSeveral people including some close friends of mine have invited me and the wife to The Great American Meatout being held today at 5:00 pm. At first I thought it to be a bit silly especially since I’m not a vegetarian. I also don’t think a good time is having a lot of people look down on me because I eat pepperonis on my pizza. Then I got to thinking that maybe I’ll enjoy the all you can eat food and Honky-Tonk band for a mere $10 spot. Plus it’s good to try new things right?
Unfortunately, those same friends are working the event so it’s not like we could go hang out with them. I also don’t think it’s something the wife would be all that interested in. She’s the one always content to stay in the house when I want to go out and paint the town red. So we’ll see.
Porch Dog wrote up a post that confirmed my thinking about the event. He pretty much summed it up by saying, “Not eating meat for one day, can’t hurt and it might help.” Too bad for me I already had two slices of pepperoni pizza for lunch. Maybe I’ll go to the store to get some kumquats and munch on them the rest of the day.
Here are the event details; maybe I’ll see you there:
